A bag of positivity
2020 has shown us that we need to keep positive. It’s not been easy for any of us but I think going into the another Lockdown here in the uk it’s more important than ever. So, when I had a memory of a wash bag workshop pop up on social media I took it as a sign. Let’s make something positive out of this next break. This time we kind of know what we’re dealing with and how much time we’ll actually have. Especially now the weather is on the turn. Also, these are a perfect foil for gifts. A handy little back up.
I feel we could do with a little love being shared. This is my way of giving you something positive to focus on in these days of uncertainty. So join me in making a bag big enough to fit all of your wash bag needs (for when we can move about again) or to use as a project bag to house that new lock down hobby. I hope you enjoy the course and find a little positivity along the way. If so there is a link if you’d like to buy me a cuppa. Tap on the cup link in the corner. Tea is always appreciated.
About the bag
This bag is a goodly size and can hold quite a bit. The boxy nature means it can fit chunky, dare I say, slightly awkward shapes inside due to the zip reaching halfway down the sides. The bag pictured is made in a laminated fabric with a cork at the sides. It can also be made with craft cottons, denim, leather, anything really with a little body. I go through each step of making the bag of positivity. From choosing your fabrics, putting in the zip and using a lining should you want to.
It’s worth noting that after a small insta poll there was an unreserved call for me not to edit out my small blips. You’ll get the occasional moment where things didn’t go as well as I’d planned. I’ve cut out the proper bad language as a curtesy to anyones ears but there may still be the odd blip.
This isn’t a long project. Once you get the hang of it you’ll be turning these out as the perfect me-made gift for Christmases and birthdays for years to come.
